Proportional intensities regression models can be specified to allow for covariates effects separately for each transition. We use either a parametric approach with Weibull baseline intensities or a semi-parametric approach with M-splines approximation of baseline intensities in order to obtain smooth estimates of the hazard functions. Parameter estimates are obtained by maximum likelihood in the parametric approach and by penalized maximum likelihood in the semi-parametric approach. authors: - family-names: Touraine given-names: Celia email: celia.touraine@icm.unicancer.fr - family-names: Gerds given-names: Thomas Alexander email: tag@biostat.ku.dk - family-names: Joly given-names: Pierre email: pierre.joly@u-bordeaux.fr - family-names: Proust-Lima given-names: Cecile - family-names: Jacqmin-Gadda given-names: Helene - family-names: Diakite given-names: Amadou - family-names: Cody given-names: W.D. - family-names: Morris given-names: A.H. - family-names: Brown given-names: B.W. preferred-citation: type: article title: 'SmoothHazard: An R Package for Fitting Regression Models to Interval-Censored Observations of Illness-Death Models' authors: - family-names: Touraine given-names: C\'elia email: celia.touraine@inserm.fr - family-names: Gerds given-names: Thomas A. - family-names: Joly given-names: Pierre email: pierre.joly@u-bordeaux.fr journal: Journal of Statistical Software year: '2017' volume: '79' issue: '7' doi: 10.18637/jss.v079.i07 start: '1' end: '22' repository: https://tagteam.r-universe.dev commit: 7e55a8fa4abad21334d9227d6776f9c65e4e0dac date-released: '2024-04-10' contact: - family-names: Gerds given-names: Thomas Alexander email: tag@biostat.ku.dk
